Position Overview
We’re looking for a Business Development – Operations Lead who thrives on being in the action—closing deals, solving problems, and driving team performance through example. This role blends sales expertise with operational execution, ensuring our customers have a smooth experience from first contact to final design approval.
You’ll work directly with homeowners, process change orders, sell products remotely, schedule site assessments, and coordinate across teams. You’ll be the go-to for product knowledge, system design in Aurora, and explaining financing in a way that’s clear and compelling.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Leadership in Sales & Operations
● Actively sell solar, EV chargers, smart panels, and batteries through phone and virtual channels.
● Process change orders accurately and keep projects moving without delays. ● Schedule site assessments and ensure communication with homeowners is clear and consistent.
Technical & Financial Expertise
● Use Aurora to create or review designs for technical accuracy and feasibility. ● Provide in-depth product knowledge and explain technical features in plain language. ● Present financing options, incentives, and ROI in a way that builds customer trust.
Business Development & Team Support
● Spot upsell and cross-sell opportunities to grow revenue per project.
● Work alongside team members to model great sales and customer service techniques.
● Share best practices, give live feedback, and help new reps develop their skills.
Customer Experience Ownership
● Maintain proactive communication with homeowners throughout the sales and onboarding process.
Troubleshoot and resolve customer or operational issues quickly to keep momentum.
Qualifications
● 2+ years in solar sales, technical sales, or business development.
● Skilled at balancing customer conversations, technical design work, and operational follow-up.
● Proficiency with Aurora Solar or similar solar design software.
● Knowledge of solar PV, EV chargers, smart panels, and battery storage. ● Confident explaining financing, incentives, and ROI calculations.
● Strong communicator who can build rapport with both customers and teammates.
